It is still early for me to be able to grasp what's happening. Always been a slow "emotional processor". The album bleecker street revisited is out, and instead of suffering from empty nest syndrome, new music ideas instantly started popping in my mind. Like: this is what represented Vicious Clay in the past 4 years or so, and now it's time to move towards whatever will come next creatively. It's beautiful to watch and feel that happen. All these ideas (songs) are out there, and now they're yours as much as they once were mine, and at the same time no one's. But the labor and love poured into executing and crafting it in the past years is definitely something I will never forget. All of my thank yous and artwork are hereby posted, along with all of the lyrics to the album. I won't tag anyone this time, if you know you know how grateful I am to you all today. The album will also be available physically in vinyl shortly (except for the jacket with the lyrics; that would've delayed the delivery - maybe the next batch?). Because yes, music is tactile. If you were there last night with us at Sugar Mouse you know what I'm talking about. You could grab the energy inside that small room with your hands. Besides the music, the conversations and exchange of ideas that happen in-person are irreplaceable and special and still help mold the person I am today. Here's a post to acknowledge the cover art for bleecker street revisited. This is a painting by @eduardofonsecaart , a dear friend I met exactly 10 years ago when moving to NYC. I took his place at a tiny Bedstuy apartment, and he had painted a beautiful mural on the street right next to it. I kept his contact and his name on the back of my head ever since, and this album served as the perfect excuse to ask him to use this painting called "The meaning of things". He gracefully granted me the permission to do so. Please do check out Eduardo and his amazing catalogue, it's immense and filled with insights and truly inspiring works of art. Obrigado, irmão!
